We’re looking forward to the new season this year. We have begun seeding Tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cabbages in the greenhouse. I’ve made some new additions to the greenhouse. Gravel on the ground to prevent weeds and have added some new seeding benches. We use Fox Farms Ocean potting mix and seed mostly into 2 inch soil blocks.

There’s always a lot of excitement at the beginning of a growing season as we hope that every seed we plant will grow into food for someone and their family. But always a few plants don’t make it to the field because of disease or bad genetics. It’s a reminder that some things are out of our control but still to be diligent and nurture all our plants as best we can.
This year we will be growing 250 Cherokee Purple Tomato plants to sell. They will be quite large around April and perfect for planting into your garden on a nice sunny day. I will be selling them at the Doniphan farmer’s market at opening day.
